My name is Sarah Kindelan Crawford. I grew up in Memphis Tennessee and attended college in Mississippi where I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio art. I was particularly drawn to sculpture because of the freedom of materials; I’ve worked with everything from wood to window screen to chocolate.
I have 10 years of experience as a display artist and my favorite part of the job is helping clients with their vision. I think having a twin sister prepared me well for the world of collaboration: I love building art with others.
My favorite kind of projects are the ones that create a narrative through their use of materials, scale and composition. Don’t get me wrong, I love building functional pieces for folks, but making art that exists simply to tell a story is what I do best.
When I’m not knee-deep in sawdust or hot glue, you can find me exploring Memphis with my three small kids, or peering through my binoculars at the vibrant bird community from my kitchen window.
I’m also proud owner of 1910 Frame Works, a 42 year old custom framing studio in the heart of Midtown Memphis.
